Direct buses
There are several bus companies that make the direct trip Fiumicino-Termini. All of them have the stop at the same point, in one of the two curves that the airport has. The signals that indicate BUS STATION (eye, not “Regional bus”) will take you there without any problem. Approximate price 5 euros.
Buses leave every 30 min. approximately during the day, synchronizing their departures with the arrival of flights. At night they are somewhat less frequent. Once you get to Termini you can walk 15 minutes to Free Hostels (Via Luigi Luzzatti 3) or go by metro from Termini to Manzoni (4 minutes).

Train
Leonardo Express service: It is a comfortable option, although more expensive. The Leonardo Express trains connect the airport with the Termini Station (in the center of Rome), without intermediate stops. They leave every 30 minutes, with exact hours, and the trip lasts 32 minutes.
The ticket costs € 14.00 and can be purchased online, at the ticket office and at the automatic machines of the station. In Fiumicino, also in the tobacconists. If it is bought at the Trenitalia station next to the train, it costs € 15.00.
The Leonardo Express service is guaranteed even in the event of a strike.

Train schedule:
Termini-Fiumicino: first at 5.35, last at 22.35
Fiumicino-Termini: first at 6.23, last at 23.23

Important !: the ticket must be stamped before boarding the train (there are yellow machines for this on the platforms). If you do not, the reviewer will consider that you do not carry a ticket and you will have to pay a fine.
Tickets purchased online already have the date and time, and do not have to be stamped: they are valid for 90 minutes from the time indicated.
Children under 4 years old do not pay a ticket and for ages between 4 and 12, a child can travel for free for each adult traveling with them.

Line FL-1 normal train: The train stops at all stations of the line. You can see the route it takes and the stations where it joins the subway on our subway map.
The ticket costs € 8.00 and can be purchased online, at the ticket office and at the automatic machines of the station. In Fiumicino, also in the tobacconists.
Frequency: there are trains every 15 or every 30 minutes (according to the time slot). The exact schedule can easily be found in Trenitalia (in the BIGLIETTI box). You must put as the source station “fiumicino aeroporto” and as destination any of the stations: Ostiense, Tuscolana …
Which is my train? When you are waiting in a station, you must be careful with the platform (“binary” in Italian) and with the schedule. You will know which train is by the time it passes. The schedules are usually displayed on electronic panels, and can also be found on the Trenitalia website. In addition, they announce it through a public address system.
Once you get to Termini you can walk 15 minutes to Free Hostels (Via Luigi Luzzatti 3) or go by metro from Termini to Manzoni (4 minutes).

Cab
The taxi run from the Fiumicino airport to Free Hostels Rome has a fixed cost, marked by the City Council of Rome, of € 48.00, as well as the Roma-Fiumicino reverse route. This is valid for a maximum of 4 people with luggage equivalent to two large suitcases.
It is a fixed rate, without supplements during the night.
This fare is well advertised at the airport with signs, but before mounting you will not be more than checking that the taxi driver agrees with her, to avoid surprises.
Illegal taxis You must be careful with the people who offer you transportation at the airport. They are always illegal taxis (the officers are forbidden to do so) and they will charge you more. Rome taxis are always white, with the TAXI sign on the roof and the license number clearly visible on the sides, next to the city’s coat of arms.
You should also be careful with taxis that belong to the municipality of Fiumicino, because for them the fixed rate that marks the City of Rome does not apply. It is good that you make sure of the price of the trip before leaving.
